  1. Congratulations, Harry! I’m so glad you got to spend time working with an organization that you believe in, and that you found ways to make your APEX Fellowship meaningful even through a global pandemic. Cheers!

    1. Thank you Nick! The work you do in APEX is what helped me get this experience, I am very appreciative.

  2. Harry,
Congratulations. It sounds like you had a very powerful experience. I am really struck by your comment about the importance of “community care.” That is very profound. Great work!

    1. Thank you Ryan! I first heard the term community care a little over a year ago, but did not fully understand its importance until the pandemic started. Nothing wrong with leaning on each other for support.

  3. Harry – What a nice job you’ve done explaining the work of Affirmations and how it operated during the pandemic. I’m sure they appreciate your observations about how hard the work is! It’s great, too, that this has made a really tangible connection with your academics. Congratulations on making the most of your summer.

    1. Thank you Cathy! It was a really fantastic experience that I would not have been able to have if it were not for APEX. Many thanks to the entire APEX team.

  4. Harry,
Thank you for your presentation. I am struck that this experience not only allowed you to hone your career aspirations, but also allowed you to find community.
I love that you relate your coursework and theory to your interview experience.

    1. Thank you Jenni! I had a lot of growth this summer because of the internship and was pleased to be able to share my experience with you all.

  5. Hello Harry-I just wanted to let you know how inspiring your work at the Affirmations LGBTQ+Community Center is. I was particularly drawn to your comment on the healing powers of working in spaces created through this organization. In a time when the fears of the pandemic cause people to withdraw from community, you extended beyond yourself and connected with others. I want to congratulate you on this APEX Fellowship.
