  1. Elizabeth, great video. It was neat to see images from your summer experiences. The networking opportunities such as meeting with teachers was a great outcome from your internship. I was impressed with your thoughts about your future career as a teacher and mentor. Any additional thoughts for students that come here who are interested in youth development and teaching?

PS. It is neat how TUCW added your picture to their website.

    1. Thank you ! Yes, I would advise students to look at the list of students organizations that are apart of the College of Wooster community that specifically targets youth development. I would advise them to reach out to individuals apart of those orgs. to see if they would be interested in them and their work.

  2. Hi, Liz! Congratulations! I’m so glad we can all be here celebrating your hard work and dedication, even if it is virtually. It sounds like you really made the most of your time with the Urban Christian Woman, and managed to meet some incredible people!

  3. Liz,
It seems like this was a very powerful experience for you this summer. What skills you employed! What was a challenging technology/app that you were able to learn/use, and do you see yourself using these in your future as a school counselor?

    1. Professor Ozar it was a powerful experience this summer. I would not say that there was a challenging technology that I used this summer but I think when creating content on Canva there was a-lot of things to consider when creating content. I had to consider the colors to incorporate, the textures of the colors and the messages they display. I also had to consider the audience and the messages the organization would want to present to their audience and the specific platforms the content would be released on.
So I think that as a school counselor I may not necessarily be thinking of content creation. I will use these critical thinking skills when it comes to presenting information to students, parents, and faculty and staff in the school. I will have to be sensitive to the fact that everyone is different and may receive information differently. So I will have to be considerate of each individual and how they will need information given to them .

  4. Elizabeth – So glad you were able to reach so many people from such a large geographic area. And the fact that this impacted your own faith values is an added bonus. Congratulations on making the best of your summer.

  5. Elizabeth, it sounds like you really got a chance to develop your communication skills: writing, tech, interpersonal, visual design, and more. That’s great. And, yes, sometimes finding out what you don’t want to do can be very helpful, even while you learn valuable skills and valuable insights about yourself.

  6. Elizabeth, Thank you for your presentation. Like many of your peers, you learned many useful skills for remote engagement. I’m glad you found an internship that allowed you to grow in so many ways.
